The history of Mediq Suomi dates back 50 years, when the care products department was established in Oriola in 1970. The laboratory department was established in 1972, and in 1978 Oriola acquires Prolab Oy, which distributes laboratory products. In 1979, the imaging business became part of Oriola. In 1983, Oriola acquires Kuulolaitekeskus Oy, which specializes in assistive devices.
Along the way, the healthcare and laboratory businesses from Instrumentarium Oy, the healthcare products distribution business from Medith Oy and the ILS Laboratories Scandinavia laboratory business were included. The latest addition to Mediq Suomi is UpViser Oy, which was purchased in 2021.
